These muffins are our Granddaughters favorites. When they come back to Colorado we have to make them along with a lot of applesauce for them to eat while we are making them. Our Grandaughts names are Isabella and Alexandra that why our muffins are called Bella and Zanny's muffins.

Bella and Zanny’s Bran Muffins

1- cup heaping Crisco

3- cups sugar ( I use 1 cup sugar and 2 cups applesauce)

 4- eggs

2- Cups boiling water

4-6 cups All Bran (depending on how much bran you like)

1-qt. Buttermilk

4-tesp. Soda

4-5-cups Flour

1-tesp. Salt

Pour boiling water in a bowl with the all bran and let stand until cool. In a large mixing bowl (one that you can have a tight cover on) cream shortening, sugar /applesauce, eggs, buttermilk and the cooled bran mix. Add the salt and soda to the flour and mix.

These muffins will last up to 6-7 weeks in your refrigerator. So when you want a fresh muffin just put them in a muffin tin and bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes or until done.

I love my gray legacy stand mixer  it is Charcoal color with 450W, dual motors, die-cast metal, badging, 2 brushed SS bowls, whisks, dough hooks. It work great for mixing the muffins.
